Dilli: Saif Ali Khan’s Web Series Gets A Green Signal For Season 2 Even Before The Release Of Season 1 But Saif Wants A Sexier Title
After the success of Sacred Games, Saif Ali Khan is back on the OTT platform with a new political drama Dilli. The arrival of Dilli was announced a long time ago but it has not been released yet, all thanks to the outbreak of the Coronavirus. However, the latest development regarding Dilli we hear is that the series has already got a green signal for season 2 even before season 1 is released, claims a report in Binged. Now, that’s definitely some good news and an exciting one for this web show. Even though we are waiting for the series with bated breath, we also hear that Saif is not very pleased with the title of the series ‘Dilli’.

As he said in an interview with Rajeev Masand recently, Khan said “I hope it’s not eventually called Dilli. Taandav was the working title which captured more the essence of what the show was about. Dilli is a little thanda really. I don’t think we have either titles, Dilli or Taandav. We have to work hard to come up with something a little sexier like House of Cards. Something with a little more poetry to the title than just a geographical location.” Just so you know, the show is on the lines of House Of Cards and is helmed by Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar.

Apart from Saif, Amyra Dastur, Shonali Nagrani, Paresh Pahuja, Sunil Grover, Sarah Jane Dias and Shobhit Johri also add up to the ensemble cast of the show.

Earlier, in April, we also reported that the makers of Saif Ali Khan's Dilli, Abhishek Bachchan's Breathe 2 and gangster drama Ali Fazal’s Mirzapur 2 have shot the show but they couldn’t release it as the post-production work was pending, claimed Aparna Purohit, content head of Amazon Originals India to Mid-Day.
