Chutzpah Actress Elnaaz Norouzi Recalls The Time When Her Social Media Led Her To A Dangerous Encounter-EXCLUSIVE
Chutzpah actress Elnaaz Norouzi shares the incident when her social media brought a fan from Delhi to Goa, leading to a dangerous encounter
This Friday, Dinesh Vijan and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba are bringing a story about the importance of the digital world in today’s time, Chutzpah. The series is about five individuals that are connected through the virtual world. It features Fukrey actors Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh alongside Elnaaz Norouzi, Tanya Maniktala and Diksha Singh.
Social media has been like a boon to our actors who found a more intimate way to stay connected to their fans through Instagram and Twitter. However, it has also been the source of some adverse things like internet trolling, virtual abusive behaviour behind anonymity and such. Speaking about one such bad experience due to social media, Elnaaz, who plays a calm girl in Chutzpah, recalls, “A couple of months back I had gone to Goa. I had visited one of my friend’s boutique hotel. It was beautiful so I wanted to share its pictures and videos and tag that place on social media, so I did.” ALSO READ: Elnaaz Norouzi Reveals She Was Offered Bigg Boss By Salman Khan; Here's Why She Refused To Be A Part Of The Show
However, her social media activity proved a bit fatal to her. “That same night, I had retired to my room to go to bed while my other friends were partying on the roof. Suddenly, I saw someone trying to get into my room, so I messaged my friends saying that I was just going to bed, but who was it amongst them that was at my door. They replied that they were all up on the roof and no one had come to my room,” she shares.
The revelation scared Elnaaz and the reality was as scary as well. “It turned out that it was a fan who found out the address of the hotel through my location tag and had flown from Delhi to Goa the same night to meet me. It was so scary as he was telling my friends that he was my boyfriend and I had called him there. We ended up going to the police station to file a complaint but this is what the online world can do if you don’t take care,” she asserts, adding that she learnt an important lesson that night. “From now onwards, obviously I will never tag my location if I am there myself.”
