Whenever a new horror film or series arrives, we wonder if it will be clichéd like several other scary films or will it have something new to offer? Zee5’s latest offering Bhram that stars Kalki Koechlin in the lead is our current topic of discussion.
To begin with, the trailer of the series seemed intriguing so let’s get down to serious business and review the show.
Based on K Hari Kumar’s book ‘The Other Side of Her’, the story revolves around a romance novelist by the name of Alisha Khanna who’s husband has an unfortunate death. Alisha suffers from a condition called PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). To bail herself out of this mental illness, she moves to Shimla at her sister’s place. But, troubles come chasing there too as she starts experiencing and seeing scary faces and people around her.
Now, do these people exist for real or it’s just her illusion? You would know it when you watch the show.
Well, Bhram has its share of expletives and steamy scenes, not too many though. We would suggest you catch this show in solitude because that’s the real thrill, to watch a spookfest in complete darkness all by yourself.
Speaking of performances, Kalki is in good form. Sangeeth Sivan too doesn’t disappoint us with his direction. This show could have also worked if converted into a feature film. So overall, Bhram serves to be a good one-time watch!
