Top 3 Web Shows Of August 2019 That You Can’t Miss: Streaming Now On Netflix
2019 so far has been a great year for shows, and August was probably one of the best months. After a month of heavy binging, we bring you our list of top shows
August was a much-awaited month in terms of shows. With Netflix India’s Sacred Games 2 finally hitting screens, excitement was at an all time high. Apart from that there was David Fincher’s Mindhunter coming back for a second season, Glow, Dear White People and 13 Reasons Why all coming back for their respective third seasons. Zee5 put out two thrilling original films – Barot House and Posham Pa, both of which won critical acclaim. All this and the month isn’t even over yet – Amazon Prime Video’s Carnival Row hits screens today. Here’s our list of top shows for the month –
1. Sacred Games 2 – Netflix
Arguably, the best show of the month, Sacred Games 2 is first on the list. What stands out the most about Season 2? The cultural and political relevance of the story and the delightful new characters – Pankaj Tripathi as Guruji, Kalki Koechlin as Batya Abelman and Amruta Subhash as Yadav Ji. While a lot of fans and critics both seem to be quite disappointed with the Second Season too, the majority loved the turns the story took.
2. Mindhunter Season 2 – Netflix
Another brilliant show that outdid itself in the second season, David Fincher’s Mindhunter is definitely among the top three. Following the adventures (or should we say misadventures) of Agents Tench and Ford from the Behavioural Science Unit of the FBI, this season leads them to murkier waters. We witness the Atlanta Child Murders and there’s even a face-off with Charles Manson. A thrilling ride from start to finish, Mindhunter is worth every bit of the hype that surrounds it.
3. Glow Season 3 – Netflix
GLOW is a very good show right from the very beginning but the writers of the show seem to have outdone themselves in the third season. The girls are in the magical city Las Vegas this time and their personal and professional lives intertwine like never before. GLOW manages to be wonderfully relevant without ever trying too hard and makes strong statements about the most pressing issues of our time. Don’t miss it!
