Akshay Kumar's Bell Bottom To Release On Amazon Prime Video On September 16; Actor Hopes The Story 'Reaches Audiences Far And Wide'
Amazon Prime Video today announced the exclusive streaming premiere of espionage thriller Bell Bottom starting September 16, 2021. Akshay Kumar took to social media to share the news. Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, the film was released in theatres on August 19. Bell Bottom also stars Lara Dutta, Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi in pivotal roles.

Says the film’s leading man Akshay Kumar, “After getting the theatres going, it is time to take this story to more people, and what better way to do that than releasing Bell Bottom on Amazon Prime Video; with a reach of 240+ countries and territories, I am hoping this tale of an unsung hero reaches audiences far and wide.”

Akshay Kumar wrote on his social media accounts, "Date aap yaad rakhna, mission hum yaad dila denge. #BellBottomOnPrime, releases September 16 (sic)."

“Our audiences enjoy a fair share of action and thriller stories, and we are glad to have brought BellBottom to them,” says Vijay Subramaniam, Director and Head, Content, Amazon Prime Video, India.

He adds, “The movie has been received well by the audiences, and it’s our endeavor to take this story to a worldwide audience. Packed with a riveting script and great performances, it is one of the stellar additions to our content library.”

Based on the plane hijacks that took India by storm in the 1980s, Bell Bottom was earlier at the world’s highest mobile theatre in Ladakh. To this end, Akshay shared the theatre's photo and wrote on Twitter, “Makes my heart swell with pride that BellBottom was screened at World’s highest mobile theatre at Leh in Ladakh. At an altitude of 11562 ft, the theatre can operate at -28 degrees C. What an amazing feat (sic)!"
