WWE Star John Cena SLAMS Reports Claiming He Donated 1 Million Dollars To Match BTS' Black Lives Matter Contribution: 'It's Disheartening'
John Cena is disheartened to see reports claiming that he donated USD 1 million to match BTS' Black Lives Matter contribution. While he did announce his participation, nowhere did he mention the amount
It is no secret that WWE star John Cena is a huge BTS fan. His love for the Korean K-Pop band is often reflected in his tweets, and just recently, he also shared in his tweet that he is proud of the BTS army for taking a stand against racism and condemning George Floyd’s death. He wrote how this is among one of the many reasons he respects them, as they always take a stand against what is wrong. After BTS made a donation of a million dollars to the Black Lives Matter movement, John Cena also announced that he has joined the BTS Army in their efforts.
BTS Army had started the ‘Match a Million’ movement after BTS’ generous donation, and while John Cena did announce his participation, nowhere did he mention the amount of his donation. He only tweeted, “Very happy to join #BTSARMY in efforts to match @BTS_twt tremendous donation #ARMYMatch1M.” However, soon reports started surfacing that the wrestler-turned-actor has donated 1 million USD to match BTS’ contribution. Now, John Cena has shared that it’s disheartening to see acts of kindness being misinterpreted just for the sake of creating headlines.
In his tweet expressing his disappointment, John Cena wrote, “It is very disheartening when acts of kindness become misinterpreted by those simply chasing headlines. Overlooking all the information to tell a great story is the basis for fiction. Pushing a fictional agenda can take a kind act and turn it on its head.”

Headlines spread that Cena donated $1M after BTS and ARMY did to BLM, but there was no basis for that claim. His tweets were misinterpreted.
