He once confessed that he was jealous of wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s relationship with Tupac Shakur. Jada and Shakur had attended the same performing arts school and that’s where they first met. Tupac was fatally shot in September 1996, and he died from gunshot wounds. Now, a few months ago, Will Smith opened up about his insecurities towards Jada’s love for her friend Tupac.
Will Smith appeared on the Breakfast Club and spoke to Charlamagne tha God with his co-star Martin Lawrence as they were promoting their new film. Smith was asked if he was ever jealous of Jada’s connection with the late rapper. Will said he was, and it was in the earlier days, He also called it a big regret since he bever could open up to Tupac. He said, “Oh, fu*k yeah. Oh, my God, dude. That was in the early days. That was a big regret for me too, because I could never open up to interact with Pac, you know. Because we had a little bit of a thing."
Will Smith then explained that Jada and Tupac grew up together and loved each other, however, they never had a sexual relationship. “They never had a sexual relationship, but they had come into that age where now that was a possibility and Jada was with me.”
Will Smith also revealed that he never could speak to Tupac. “? So, I never could, we were in the room together a couple of times, I couldn’t speak to him, and he wasn’t going to speak to me if I wasn’t going to speak to him.”
