What if, you are in a theatre watching a horror film and someone from the audience starts acting possessed? Well, things would certainly take a turn for the worst if that person approaches you. Well, an exact same incident occurred when The Pope’s Exorcist’s trailer was played in a theatre, and a video of the same has gone viral on social media.
The clip was shared by Twitter user SwatKat and shows a woman, clad in a white dress, with long hair and scary eyes, walking on four limbs. The video even features her growling and attempting to scare a moviegoer.
Then, she ascends the stairs, growls and says “Call the priest”, leaving the audience in shock.
“First, a Horror movie, above that such a scary stunt (Ek toh itni Horror movie, upar se aeisa scary stunt..😱). The marketing team took scare factor to a whole new level,” read the caption of the clip.
The film has left the internet ablaze ever since it was shared on Friday. The film has amassed more than 76,000 views on Twitter.
However, the location of the incident remains unknown, and even netizens were also left scared by the horror stunt.
A user commented, “My sister just told me that she saw this yesterday on insta and totally prohibited me from watching this coz I get scared of such things easily. And here it came on my TL.” Another user wrote, “My mind was blown off after seeing this! Indeed a best marketing shot of recent times.” A third user wrote, “I feel you brother.”
The Pope’s Exorcist was released in theatres in India on April 7. The film is reportedly based on the files of late Father Gabriele Amorth, who performed thousands of exorcisms. Gabriele only obeys the Pope and following his commands, he goes to exorcise a young boy, who is possessed by a malevolent demon.
