The actress opened up about intensive media coverage and online bullying she faced in the years and shared a video with her post.
On Instagram, Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown shared a video for all her fans worldwide and penned down an emotional and heartfelt post on the things she’s been through. The actress wrote, “Ya girls 16 :)16 has felt like a long time coming. i feel like change needs to happen for not only this generation but the next. our world needs kindness and support in order for us children to grow and succeed. the last few years haven’t been easy, I’ll admit that,” and admitted that the last few years have not been easy for her. On turning 16, Millie mentioned how she feels like a change needs to happen not only for this generation but also for the next and added that our world needs kindness and support.
In her post later, Millie added, “There are moments i get frustrated from the inaccuracy, inappropriate comments, sexualization, and unnecessary insults that ultimately have resulted in pain and insecurity for me,” and spoke about the pain she has gone through due to all the online trolling and much more. Asking fans to not worry, Millie added that she will never be defeated and will continue doing what she loves to do and spread the message to bring a change. She went on to add that she will always find her way to smile.
Along with the caption, the Stranger Things actress shared a video in the post she made and mentioned how the video informs fans on the things that go behind the scenes of the headlines and flashing lights hinting towards the media scrutiny she faced and the paparazzi.
