According to reports in deadline.com, the makers of Ryan Reynolds’s film Deadpool 2 have been fined a penalty of 289,562  Dollars i.e (Rs 2,18,95,954.54)  for not providing a safe workplace for the death of stuntwoman Joi Harris on sets. The producers of Deadpool 2 have been fined the huge penalty as stuntwoman Joe Harris was killed in a motorcycle crash on the sets of the film in Vancouver back in August 2017.

The fine has been forced on TCF Vancouver Productions LTD by WorkSafeBC, the U.S. equivalent of OSHA. The WorkSafeBC came to a conclusion after a detailed investigation required was taken place. As per the investigation by WorkSafeBC, the makers were found to be violating five of the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. After the fine imposed on the makers of Deadpool 2, the agency said, “The primary purpose of an administrative penalty is to motivate the employer receiving the penalty — and other employers — to comply with occupational health and safety requirements and to keep their workplaces safe.”

Meanwhile, stuntwoman Joe Harris was performing her first movie stunt and was killed when she was ejected from her motorcycle which crashed. The production was brought to a standstill very soon after the crash. On the other hand, the film Deadpool 2 released on May 1, 2018, and stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Zazie Beetz, and Morena Baccarin pivotal roles. The plot of Deadpool 2 revolves around Deadpool who protects a young mutant Russell from the authorities and gets thrown in prison.
