Robert Pattinson Says ‘Batman Isn’t A Superhero’ Because He Does Not Have Magical Powers
Robert Pattinson is gearing up to play the role of Batman/ Bruce Wayne in the upcoming film The Batman. However, he believes that Batman isn’t a superhero, and offered an explanation as to why he thinks so
Robert Pattinson has played some very popular and interesting roles to date. He won hearts with his small but significant role in the Harry Potter series as Cedric Diggory, and then later played the vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight series with Kristen Stewart, thereby gaining global stardom. Now, the Twilight star is all set to play the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in the upcoming film scheduled to release in 2021. While he has landed the role of Batman, he doesn’t believe that Batman is a superhero.
During an interview with Today’s Willie Geist, Robert Pattinson said, “Batman’s not a superhero. It’s weird, I always balk at it. I’m like, ‘It doesn’t count, you need to have like magical powers to be a superhero.’” Willie Geist then said that Batman wears a cape, and Pattinson replied, “The cape. I will give you that one.” Well, what he said is arguable, since many heroes like Iron Man, Green Arrow lack any kind of magical or superhuman powers, but are definitely considered superheroes. In yet another interview with The New York Times, Robert Pattinson had said that Batman is not a hero. He said, “I don’t think I could ever play a real hero — there’s always got to be something a little bit wrong. I think it’s because one of my eyes is smaller than the other one.” ALSO READ: FIRST PICTURE OUT: Robert Pattinson Begins Preps For Matt Reeves Film ‘The Batman’ And We Can't Keep Calm
