Met Gala 2021: Madonna’s Daughter Lourdes Leon Breaks Stereotypes, Proudly Flaunts Unshaven Armpits
What Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon brought to the red carpet of Met Gala 2021 was unusually inspiring.
The Met Gala has a reputation for being the torchbearer for everything related to fashion. This year was no different - despite the famous guests following certain rules in the post Covid-world, including wearing masks indoors. But the restrictions didn't stop any of them from going all out with their fashion choices and glamming up the event.
This year's costume theme is "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion," and the looks were inspired by everything from the Matrix film franchise to the Statue of Liberty.
Kim Kardashian stood out for her black head-to-toe ensemble. But what Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon brought to the red carpet was unusually inspiring.
Lourdes, aka Lola, chose a hot pink dress with thousands of metallic embroidered embellishments, silver heels, and her long black and sleek locks flowing down. She completed her ensemble with a pink glittery bag that featured a unique gold handle.
Beyond how gorgeous she looked, Lola broke stereotypes and how! It was the way she unapologetically flaunted her unshaven armpits and body hair while posing for the pictures at the star-studded affair that stole the show.
She walked the red carpet sans a date, and posed for pictures in her unshaven-armpit glory.
Lola was earlier quoted as saying in the September issue of the Vogue magazine, "People think I’m this talentless rich kid who’s had everything given to her, but I’m not." She said she had paid her own college tuition fee and lives in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick.
