Kim Kardashian Gets Heavily Criticised For Sharing ‘Nude’ Coloured Face Masks; Netizens Call It ‘Inaccurate And Offensive’
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian found herself at the receiving end of criticisms as fans accused her of racism in the wake her latest post about ‘nude’ coloured face masks
Kim Kardashian once again becomes the hot topic for the social media users after she shared a post on ‘nude’ coloured face masks. As the Coronavirus pandemic has been paralysing from the month of March, the SKIMS owner took to her Twitter handle and announced nude coloured face masks in order to curb the spread of the virus. However, after sharing the picture, she found herself at the receiving end of criticisms as fans accused her of racism in the wake her latest social media post. How racism?
Well, Kim shared a series of pictures which featured several models donning ‘nude’ coloured face masks with inners. However, Kim Kardashian was brutally criticised when she advertised a black mask as a 'nude' option for a dark-skinned woman and this obviously didn’t go down well with the majority of people on social media who called racist, inaccurate and offensive. While sharing the post, Kim backed it with, “Shop @SKIMS Face Masks in 5 shades of Nudes at SKIMS.COM.”
A Twitter commented, “The nude shade for the Black model is inaccurate, offensive, and culturally out of touch” while another was standing up for the black people as the comment read, “Black women deserve more than your mediocrity & laziness!” We also saw one user writing, “You literally made the black models mask TOTALLY BLACK. You do realize black people aren’t the color black like white people aren’t paper white? The other skin tones are fine but why couldn’t you make a dark brown color?”
