Kevin Spacey Receives Standing Ovation For His 5-Min Performance From William Shakespeare's Play, 'Timon of Athens'-WATCH
Kevin Spacey drew a standing ovation at Oxford University, on Tuesday, after he performed a five-minute scene from William Shakespeare's early 1600s play 'Timon of Athens'. The play revolves around the story of a wealthy man in the Greek capital who lavishly spends money on his friends only to be abandoned by them once he becomes poor.

Despite being rumoured to lead a rather controversial lifestyle and being accused of sexual abuse, none of it seems to have affected his acting career. The actor continues to ace each and every aspect of it with his performance and dedication to the craft. The recent outing is being reported as the first public appearance after he was acquitted of sexual assault charges in the UK. The actor was declared not guilty in July.

This wasn’t the first time Kevin Spacey has been hailed for his performance. The legendary actor has been credited with Academy Award-winning films such as Usual Suspects, American Beauty, and ruthless politician Frank Underwood in House Of Cards.

However, the reason behind Spacey choosing to perform the Shakespeare play is still unknown. Many users on X (formerly known as Twitter) and other social media platforms have speculated that the play is quite similar to the ordeal he suffered with the ‘Cancel Culture’ (a modern term used to define an environment that encourages shunning and boycotting people over their thoughts and preferences).

For those unaware, Spacey is one of the few openly gay actors in Hollywood and he enjoyed widespread fame and coverage in the US but the 2018 Me Too movement led to him being accused of sexual assault on multiple counts.
