Katy Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian And More Protest Against Facebook, 'Freeze' Their Instagram Account For 24 Hours
Several movements on social networking platforms do get amendments in people’s life, one of such movements has just begun on the most used photo sharing app, Instagram. Hollywood celebs such Katy Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kerry Washington, Ashton Kutcher, Rosario Dawson, Mark Ruffalo and Jamie Foxx  are actively supporting “#StopHateforProfit” by freezing their Instagram accounts for 24 hours. This protest is all about pointing out Instagram’s parent organization Facebook’s pitfall when it comes to combating the violent and hateful messages on the social networking site, followed by circulating incorrect information about the upcoming elections in the US.

Kim Kardashian supporting this movement, posted on her Instagram account, “I can’t sit by and stay silent while these platforms continue to allow the spreading of hate, propaganda and misinformation – created by groups to sow division and split America apart – only to take steps after people are killed.” Leonardo DiCarpio supporting the campaign wrote in his Instagram post, “I do use Instagram and Facebook, but I want it to be a force for good - not hate, violence, and disinformation.”

Ashton Kutcher also supporting this campaign taking to his Instagram account, wrote, “These tools were not built to spread hate, violence, and misinformation, but when companies and individuals benefit from these behaviors, financially or otherwise, it becomes their responsibility to mitigate the unintended utilization. #StopHateForProfit”
