Jumanji 4: Sequel To Dwayne Johnson’s 800 Million Dollar Jumanji: The Next Level In The Works? Release Date, Cast- Everything We Know So Far
Is Jumanji 4 in the works? Release date, trailer, cast: here’s everything we know about the sequel of Dwayne Johnson starrer Jumanji: The Next Level so far
For a lot of people, one of the best memories as kids has been watching Jumanji and being fascinated by it. The storyline just took our breath away and we’ve been lucky enough to have witnessed 2 more sequels post the original with Welcome to the Jungle and the Next Level releasing in 2017 and 2019 respectively. Forbes reported that Jumanji: The Next Level has passed 800 million dollars in worldwide box office collection. Meanwhile, there have been reports going around about the next sequel in the hit franchise featuring Dwayne Johnson. As of now, here’s everything we know about Jumanji 4 (or third, depending on how you count it).
Release Date: Since both the movies were released in a gap of 2 years, the logical assumption would be for the fourth installment to come out at the end of 2021. But that looks highly unlikely with the COVID-19 pandemic gripping the world. As of 2020, looks like the film is merely in the early stages. Filmmaker Jake Kasdan explained, “We're just starting to talk about all of that, and the truth is we've barely started (on the film)." Speaking to Collider, he said, “We were just getting into the conversation before this global calamity and we will re-engage it as soon as everybody's settled. We all love working together and we've loved making these."
As for the cast, while the star cast Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart and Jack Black have been major reasons for the success of its films, given the end of The Next Level, they might not have significant roles in the film. However, Danny Glover as Eddie’s friend Milo, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, and Colin Hanks may return in the sequel.
The trailer of the film may take a while as the shooting for the film hasn’t even begun. If the film were to release in December 2021, then the trailer could be expected by July 2021, given that the first trailer of The Next Level released on July 1, 2019. However, these are only assumptions, and none of them have been confirmed so far.ALSO READ: Dwayne Johnson And Kevin Hart Share UNSEEN BTS FOOTAGE From Jumanji: The Next Level Which Is ROFL Worthy
