Joker Star Joaquin Phoenix Uses The F Word At Film's Crew Member; Feels 'Sorry' And 'Embarrassed' For His Diva Behaviour
A video of Joaquin Phoenix swearing at a cast member was released by Jimmy Kimmel on his chat show and the Joker star finally has a reaction to it. He’s not proud of how he behaved, he says he is “sorry” about it and a “little embarrassed.”
Joaquin Phoenix who has been in the news for his stellar performance in the critically acclaimed and much-talked about flick, Joker, was in the news when a video of him swearing at a cast member was released by Jimmy Kimmel on his chat show. Phoenix finally has a reaction to it. He’s not proud of how he behaved, he says. Kimmel had surprised the actor by showcasing an outtake from his movie that was shared by none other than Joker director Todd Phillips.
The video that has created quite a stir showed a mighty pissed off Phoenix swearing at the movie’s cinematographer Lawrence Sher. Phoenix can be seen in the video in his joker get-up, green hair, big eyes, clown face etc. "Just shut the f**k up, dude. I'm trying to find something real," he lashes out at Lawrence Sher. The cinematographer on the other hand can be seen mocking at Phoenix for his diva-like behavior calling him Cher (after the popular singer). "It's not even an insult," the actor goes on to say. "Cher, really? She's a singer, actor, dancer, fashion icon. How is that a f**king insult?" Kimmel goes on to play out the complete clip for Phoenix and as soon as it finishes, Phoenix needs no prodding as he is quick to jump to his defence and feel sorry for the way he reacted.
He says to the host, Jimmy Kimmel, "This is so embarrassing. Sometimes movies get intense because you're a lot of people in a small space and you're trying to find something, so it can feel intense."
He goes on to add that the footage was supposed to be “private” and that he’s a “little embarrassed.” “I'm sorry you guys had to see that,” says Phoenix. Meanwhile, on the box-office front, Phoenix is soaring and flying in the glory of solid collections and rave reviews.
