There are quite a few celebrities in the west who have openly accepted their sexual orientation. The list includes stars like Kristen Stewart, Jim Parson, Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres and others who are happily gay
Stars in the west are very much open about their preferences. There are many celebrities who have come out of their closet and confessed that they are happily gay. While the sexual orientation of certain celebrities does draw a lot of attention, there are many big stars who have had no qualms in accepting that they are gay or lesbian. The list of such stars is long, but we have compiled a smaller list of a few biggest names in Hollywood who belong to the gay community.
Starting with Twilight star Kristen Stewart. Though she was reportedly in a relationship with her co-star Robert Pattinson, she became vocal about her choices post their split. She was later dating Alicia Cargile, a visual effects producer. To Elle, she had quoted that dating a girl made her much happier and that she wouldn't want to hide it from the public. "Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I'm not down with it or I'm ashamed of it,' so I had to alter how I approached being in public. It opened my life up and I'm so much happier," she quoted.
Jim Parson, the star who played Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, has been extremely open about his sexual orientation. He is gay and is married to Todd Spiewak.
Likewise, Neil Patrick Harris who played the role of Barney in How I Met Your Mother is happily married to David Burtka. It was in 2006 that he had spoken about being gay in a statement that read, "I am happy to dispel any rumours or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love."
Ellen DeGeneres, the famous Television personality is also a happy member of Hollywood's gay club. In 1997, Ellen came out as a lesbian in ABC's sitcom Ellen and that episode was among the most viewed episodes in the history of Television. After her split with Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus came out as a lesbian as she started dating Kaitlynn Carter. However, their affair was short-lived and Miley turned bisexual and soon started dating Cody Simpsons. However, she has made it pretty clear that she admires girls and doesn't want to label her sexual orientation anything.
Pretty Little Liars star Cara Delevingne was in a relationship with Ashley Benson for the past two years. But now reports suggest that the lesbian partners have parted ways.
Last but not least, at the age of 12, Batwoman star Ruby Rose became aware of her preferences. But then, she did not know it was 'a thing.' In an interview with Sunday Today published in 2017, she was quoted saying, "I knew how I felt, I knew what I kind of identified as, but the words gay or lesbian, I didn't know anyone else that was gay or lesbian, so I didn't really know how to word it. I was just like, 'I think I should let you know that when I eventually get a boyfriend, it will be a girl."
