Iconic Band U2 To Perform In India For The First Time In December
The iconic rock band U2, is all set to perform for the first time in India and will be performing in Mumbai on December 15 as a part of their The Joshua Tree tour of Asia- Pacific which will start in November
Fans of the iconic rock band U2 are in for a great surprise as the band, fronted by Bono, has announced that they will be performing in India for the first time ever! The rock band, which is famous for its songs like One, With Or Without You, Sunday bloody Sunday has had a long career and are one of the most successful bands. According to a report in NDTV, they will be performing in December and Mumbai has been included on their The Joshua Tree tour of Asia-Pacific. While the tour starts in November, U2 will perform at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium at 4pm on Sunday, December 15.
The Joshua Tree is the band’f fifth album and on this tour, their set list will have songs from it such as With Or Without You, Where The Streets Have No Name and I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. Apart from these, U2 will also perform songs from their other albums. While speaking to NDTV, Bonon said, “I hope it's good news (for fans in India). It certainly is good news for our band that we are coming to Mumbai on December the 15th. It's our first time in India and we are pretty excited.” The Edge also revealed that their show in Mumbai will be a three act show and will begin with songs from The Joshua Tree album. Bono also mentioned that India holds a special place in their hearts and said, “The other thing that important to us is the fight against injustice. We were shaped and formed by Martin Luther King, Jr, who was a student of Mahatma Gandhi... we have to be actively involved in our democracy to preserve it and show people how we feel and things that we care about. So, we come as students to the source of inspiration that is 'Ahimsa', non-violence. Indians gave us this. It is the greatest gift to the world."
The rock band U2 was formed back in 1976 and the band consists of Bono, who is the frontman, the Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. Coming back to their show in India, we are pretty excited after hearing this news and can’t wait to watch them perform live!
