Coronavirus Scare: Oh No, FRIENDS Reunion Featuring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox And Others Delayed - Reports
The shooting of HBO Max's FRIENDS reunion starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow has been affected by the outbreak of deadly coronavirus, say reports.
It seems we'll have to wait for a little longer to see our favourite stars of FRIENDS together. We all jumped out of our seats when HBO Max announced that they signed a deal with all the six stars of the sitcom - Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Courteney Cox (Monica), Matthew Perry (Chandler), Matt LeBlanc (Joey), David Schwimmer (Ross) and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe)- for a special, unscripted reunion. Reportedly, the shooting of the same was scheduled for next Monday and Tuesday, but due to the spread of Coronavirus, there is a change in the plan.
As reported by The Hollywood reporter, the shooting of this FRIENDS reunion has been pushed to May at the earliest. The shooting of this special show was to take place at the soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank. This is where originally the sitcom was shot. While the shooting has been delayed, it is being reported that the makers are still looking forward to releasing the special reunion episode as per the fixed time in May along with all 10 seasons.
The special episode will be directed by Ben Winston. It is being reported that all the six stars are getting $2.5 million and $3 million for the special, almost double of their former episode fee.
Talking about FRIENDS reunion, Kevin Reilly, HBO Max’s chief content officer had earlier said, "Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together — we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courteney, Matt, Lisa, and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire ‘Friends’ library," as reported by Time.
