Contagion Medical Consultant Dr Ian Lipkin Catches Coronavirus, Says 'If It Can Hit Me, It Can Hit Anybody'

The outbreak of Coronavirus across the world is no joke, with several people being tested positive and many losing their lives due to it, this pandemic is the darkest time for the entire world. Several celebrities such as Tom Hanks, his wife Rita Wilson, Idris Elba, and many others have been tested positive for coronavirus, proving no one is immune to this deadly disease. Now, in an interview on Fox News,  Dr. Ian Lipkin, who was the medical consultant on the pandemic film 'Contagion', revealed that he has been tested positive for COVID-19.  

The revelation as made by him on FOX News, he was quoted saying by the channel, “I would like to say on this show tonight, this has become very personal to me, too. Because I have COVID as of yesterday. It’s miserable. If it can hit me, it can hit anybody. That’s the message I want to convey.” Lou Dobbs taking to his Twitter account shared this news too. Apart from being the medical advisor on the film, Contagion, Dr. Lipkin is the director of Centre for Infection and Immunity at Columbia University.


Lipkin further added, “We really don’t know when we’re going to get this under control. We have porous borders between states and cities, and unless we’re consistent, we’re not gonna get ahead of this thing.”

He further adds the only solution to this is self-isolation and confinement. “The best tool we have is isolation and confinement,” concluded Lipkin.
