74th Cannes Film Festival: Payal Kapadia Bags The Oeil D’or (Golden Eye) Award In The Best Documentary Category For Her Movie, A Night Of Knowing Nothing
Director Payal Kapadia’s A Night of Knowing Nothing bagged the Oeil d’or (Golden Eye) award in the best documentary category at the 74th Cannes Film Festival. This amazing news of an Indian filmmaker bagging this prestigious award was announced on the official Twitter account of Director's Fortnight.

Their tweet read, “The Oeil d’Or, the award for best documentary presented at the Cannes Film Festival all sections combined, goes to 'A Night of Knowing Nothing' by Payal Kapadia, a film selected at the Directors’ Fortnight. Our warmest congratulations to Payal Kapadia and the entire film crew!" A Night of Knowing Nothing traces a story of a student studying university in India, who is penning down letters to her estranged partner, while they are away from one another

A Night of Knowing Nothing was screened at Directors’ Fortnight, a section that parallely runs with the festival. Oeil d’or jury had American documentary producer Ezra Edelman headed the jury members French actor Deborah Francois, French filmmaker Julie Bertuccelli Franco-American, film critic Iris Brey and artistic director of the International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA) Amsterdam, Orwa Nyrabia.
