Actress Sophie Turner has finally opened up about her separation from her ex-husband, musician Joe Jonas. Having been together for over seven years, the couple got married in an impromptu wedding and are parents to two daughters. Through their messy divorce and custody battles, too much was said and speculated about their separation. Now, after maintaining her silence she has opened up about the divorce procedure and how it took a toll on her emotionally and mentally.

In an interview with British Vogue, she opened up about her relationship with Joe and what it was like to be a part of the Jonas family. Married to the Jonas Brothers, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Danielle Jonas, and Sophies Turner were often referred to as “the wives,” which the Game Of Thrones stars did not like. She revealed how they were often treated like groupies when they tagged along with their husbands during their tours and concerts. Quoted by Indian Express, the 28-year-old actress stated, “There was a lot of attention on the three brothers and the wives. Well, we were always called the wives, and I hated that. It was kind of this plus-one feeling. Shedding light on the taxing divorce procedure, Turner revealed that some days she didn’t know if she could make it. It was during that time that her lawyer encouraged her and reminded her that she was doing it for her daughters, Willa and Delphine. She added, “I was just never strong enough to stand up for myself. And then, finally, after two weeks of me being in a rut, she reminded me that it was my children I was fighting for. Once anyone says to me, ‘Do it for your kids,’ I’m doing it. I wouldn’t do it for myself, but I’ll find the strength for them.”

For the unversed, in September 2023, Sophie and Joe released a joint statement announcing their separation. They wrote, “After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.” As their divorce proceedings and custody battles began, many speculations surrounding their failing relationship started surfacing on the internet.
