Yellow Eyeshadow Is The Colour Of Monsoon And Sonam Kapoor Rocks The Look
When you visit a cosmetic shop, Yellow eyeshadow is probably the shade you would walk past, unless you’re the daring one who likes a bit of make-up play. This Monsoon, coloured eyes are making a statement. And out of that, yellow is my favourite. It can be used in moderate to loud variations and look absolutely stunning if blended well, and combined with the right outfit.

Starting with Mrs Ahuja, Sonam wore a dramatic and busy print outfit. And that’s why she kept the tinge of yellow subtle and only on the lids. So, if you are going bold with your wardrobe and yet want to use yellow on eyes, then it’s better to keep it understated.

Work only on the eyelids and apply a thin line of kaajal. Do not go for highlighters. Keep the lips nude just like Sonam. Below are some examples which will help you to play around with yellow as per your personality:

If you like to keep it loud and really want to dramatize the look, then the reference above can work for you. The model adds a tinge of red liner with her yellow eye shadow, which is the bright yellow, not the subtle one. The lips too are a peachy pink, though I would suggest to still go nude on lips if your eyes are so loud. Carry this eye look with simple outfits in neutral and dull shades.

This one is a perfect party look. There is shimmer and use of fake eye lashes too. If you’re going clubbing donning a chocolate brown midi or a nude bodycon dress, then this eye make-up works. The model adds a white liner too but I guess we can skip that, considering our Indian skin tones.

If you’re in hurry, and wearing something very basic, or let me put it more candidly, something very boring and want to spice up your look, then the eye play above should be your pick. It’s quite similar to Sonam’s look, but the shade of yellow is more subtle and towards brown. It’s also all mat and there is no shine to it, which means it can work as a daywear too. This one is my favourite.

Here’s food for those who like to live a balanced life. Neither too loud, nor too subtle- the look below serves the purpose for those who want to stand out and yet not look aloof. The idea of introducing yellow on your eyes below is more a night thing than day. You can go for the look with a black dress, saree or a catty black jumpsuit. If you’ll notice, the eye make-up is more smokey on the lids, cutting down the yellow, which is where the balance is achieved.
