You Wore WHAT!?
Ayesha Nair is amazed at Shraddha Kapoor’s stunning fashion evolution
Who does not love a makeover story? Frankly, they are my favourite kind of story. And right now Shraddha Kapoor is starring in her own makeover story.
When she first hit the scene with Teen Patti she was known as Shakti Kapoors daughter. And that was not going to get her too far.
Maybe thats why she decided to drown herself in shapeless clothes. I mean with her petite frame she could not really carry the chic gypsy look too well.
Then she even had the bright idea that she could totally pull off a pink satin jumpsuit. NOBODY can pull off a pink satin jumpsuit. Pink satin jumpsuits should not be made in the first place.
Then like a flash of lightening that blinds you and when it clears you can see things in a new light Shraddha did a 360 turn and attempted to bring sexy back. The July 2014 cover of GQ and the September Filmfare cover a few months later, showed us that she had ditched her cutesy image.
And if youre wondering who the catalyst is, its her new stylist Tanya Ghavri.
When SpotboyE.com spoke to Tanya, she said, “I started styling Shraddha around the time that she began promoting Haider. Ive known her for a long time. Ive done a Filmfare shoot with her and at that time I told her that I was really keen on styling her.”
Since then Shraddha has gone to town in sparkly figure-hugging dresses and skater skirts and boots.
Such is her feminine charm that she made a pantsuit with a cropped vest look soft and not like she left the boardroom in a hurry.
Tanya says, She is a soft-spoken, fun-loving, sweet girl. Its just the vibe that she has. She doesnt make anything look hard. She will never look, in any way, masculine.
When Shraddha goes ultra-feminine, she manages to have a child-woman vibe to her. Her gowns are sparkly and soft but theyll either be strapless or have a plunging neckline.
Shes taking a keener interest in her fashion and often shops online. Shes so into fashion that shes even started her own line, Imara.
But despite her soft, feminine image, she still has a tomboyish streak to her. She loves her jeans, track pants, hats and simple t-shirts.
This makeover story really is one for the books. Shraddha has gone from awkward to awesome and Im loving it.
