Batla House, Movie Review: Not A Mobile Crusher, But This John Abraham Film Is Quite Engaging

See it, you will find it interesting. Nicely done up, nicely enacted, nicely shot. Abraham is convincing and Mrunal is here to stay

Batla House, Movie Review: Not A Mobile Crusher, But This John Abraham Film Is Quite Engaging

It's not as tight as it should have been. It's not hard-written as it should have been. You won't crush your mobile (as JA does in one of the scenes) to avoid your mind from wandering once in a while. But yes, it still keeps you on the edge of your seat. Batla House is fine and you can book your ticket.

John Abraham is at his impressive best, sinking into the character like there's no tomorrow. Hmmm... maybe his best performance till date. Watch him in the scene where he says goodbye to his wife Mrunal Thakur in the car. Watch him in the scene where his senior tells him to not refuse the medal of honour. Watch him in the scene where he has a long discussion with Nora Fatehi. The list is long.

Story? Well it's the well-known Batla House operation and anyway, it's not my style to play spoilsport.

How can I forget Mrunal Thakur? Super 30 and now this, it's not a small achievement! Ravi Kissan scores well.

The Saki Saki rehash is just a rehash and you know what I mean by that. But Fatehi overall is not bad, she has to work harder but can't be struck off.

The action sequences are just finesse and the camerawork, excellent.

Advani has done a good job, if you overlook a bit of repitiveness that tends to crop up in patches. The long and short of Batla House is that it is housed well, but yes, could have been cosier.

I am going with Three-and-Half.
