In the clip, we see Alka talk about how when she and Akshay (she fondly calls him Raju) were young, he was asked to accompany his sister to late night outings/parties, but he would always resist saying that one should always know how to take care of themselves.
She further reveals that soon after their father’s death, Akshay took over the responsibilities of the family and she realised the relevancy of the superstar’s words when her daughter Simar moved to America for further studies.
As the concluding words, Alka gets emotional and says, “Mujhe aur meri beti ko meri bhai ne life ka jo sabse bada gift diya hai wo hai Apna Dhyaan Khud Rakhne Ki Takat! Thank You Raju (Akshay Kumar) I love you."
Post these words Akshay plants a kiss on his sister’s cheek and the video ends with a message, “This Raksha Bandhan, do not protect your sister, empower her.”
Trust Akshay Kumar to make a video of this kind.
The superstar has always stressed upon women's safety and empowerment. In fact, he is behind free martial arts training centre for women in Mumbai. In fact, some time ago, he visited the training centre to celebrate Friendship Day with students with Aditya Thackeray in tow.
