It has been reported that valuables worth Rs 48,500 have been looted from the bungalow in the wee hours of Friday. Not just that, the robbers have even vandalized the apartment with many priceless items being turned to dust.
The actress's son, Monish Bahl confirmed the news to a
leading daily and said, "The robbers completely vandalised the place; the
art pieces and idols were collected by my father for over 45 years. They even
broke my mother's picture frame as well as those of certificates given to my father.
All of these are priceless memories for me… it was a sorry sight, it hurt to
see everything strewn about in such a manner."

Good news is that the police took swift action, and they
have managed to get hold of the victims within a couple of days. A while back
the Mumbra police released a statement which said, "The gang lobbed stones
at the guards and then attacked them. The accused entered the bungalow and
picked up whatever they could before fleeing. The head of the security team,
Kailash Tukaram Nigudkar, reported the incident to police on Friday morning
and we alerted our informers. Soon, we got a tip-off about four youths from
Kalwa slums boasting about a night ‘expedition’. Our team reached the spot and
rounded off the boys. During interrogation, they confessed to having committed
the crime."
The convicts have been named as Uday Jha (19), Suraj Singh (18), Chandan
Satendra Singh (18), Jitu Gautam (19), Chandan Patva (21) and a 17-year-old
unnamed suspect, who are all residents of Mumbra. It is being reported that the
cause for the loot was drugs and drinks. It is said that the police is still on
the lookout for two more teenagers who were part of the robbery.
