Yash Chopra's wife Pamela Chopra has left for her heavenly abode this morning. She passed away at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital where she was put on a ventilator. Pamela was 74. As per reports, for the past 15 days she was seeking treatment at the hospital but today her health deteriorated and she succumbed to an age-related illness. Her last rites were performed today at 11 am In Mumbai. The news of Pamela Chopra’s sudden demise has sent shockwaves across the entire film fraternity as rich tributes are pouring in on social media.
Noted lyricist Javed Akhtar mourned the sad demise of Aditya Chopra’s mother and called her an ‘exceptional person.’ He tweeted, “Today Pam ji the better half of Shri Yash Chopra has passed away . She was a great lady . Intelligent, educated , warm and witty . Those who like me have worked closely with Yash ji know about her contribution in his scripts and music. She was an exceptional person.” Sharing Pamela’s picture, Ajay Devgn expressed his condolence, tweeting, “My thoughts & prayers are with Adi, Rani, Uday and all members of the Chopra family in their hour of grief. RIP respected Pam Chopra Ji Shanti.”

Yash Raj shared a statement on their official Instagram handle announcing the death of Pamela Chopra. It read, “With heavy hearts, the Chopra family would like to inform that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. Her cremation took place at 11 am today in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers and the family would like to request for privacy in this moment of deep sadness and reflection (sic).”
Pamela Chopra was last seen in the YRF documentary titled ‘The Romantics’ wherein she got candid about her late husband Yash Chopra and his journey.
