Yami Gautam is currently awaiting the release of her upcoming film ‘Dasvi’ where she plays a Haryanvi cop. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the political drama also features Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur in the lead roles. A few parts of the movie were filmed inside Agra Central Jail and thus, during the film’s promotions in Delhi, the entire star cast had visited the jail during its special screening for the prisoners.  In a recent interview, Yami recalled the story of a jail inmate who prepared notes on career options for his daughter.

Speaking to India Today,  the Bala actress said, “There was particularly one inmate, his story kind of stayed with me. I didn’t even meet him. But he sent his register just for an autograph and with a picture of his daughter. And it had written notes which he prepared for his daughter, who is a teenager.”  ALSO READ:  The Kashmir Files: Yami Gautam Responds To Vivek Agnihotri Film Being Termed As ‘Propaganda Film’

If she wants to join the army, this is the procedure. And if she wants to become a banker. .. and of course, that has happened at the library. I am sure that’s where he had gathered all the information.” Yami Gautam asserted that though they couldn't meet and interact with the inmates, their unknown stories made her release that there's so much more to their situation.

On a related note, Dasvi revolves around the story of a rustic politician Ganga Ram Chaudhary played by Abhishek, who is in jail and is determined to clear his 10th exams. Thus after passing the exam, he becomes a powerful and corrupt leader. The social comedy is all set to release on April 7 on Netflix.
