Yami Gautam Comments On Lavish Bollywood Weddings: Kuch Prove Karne Ki Zaroorat Nahi, Dil Se Ki Hogi Toh Aashirwad Mil Jaayega
Bollywood actress Yami Gautam’s Bollywood journey is one of the most commendable ones. She has set a benchmark for aspiring actresses by doing strong female characters ever since her first movie Vicky Donor. Currently seen in female-centric movies, she also set a standard for brides to make their wedding all about themselves rather than catering to what a wedding should look like. Even in Bollywood, the audience was always left star struck with the lavish destination weddings, their attires, the guest list and what not.

During a recent interview with Bollywood Life, the actress opened up about getting married in a simple manner, rather than all the pressure Bollywood celebrities go through to host lavish weddings. While promoting her recently released thriller Lost, revealed that she was grateful that she and her filmmaker husband Aditya Dhar were on the same page, about wanting to have a simple wedding with only 20 close people in attendance.

Talking about their wedding day, Yami said that a wedding day should be all about the happiness of the bride and the groom. She continued, “Ghar ke aangan mein shaadi ho, peeche deodar ke ped ho. Hum dono pahaadon se hain. Mein Himachal se, woh Kashmir se. Haan kuch chand family members, jo relatives hote hai, jaise meri naani hai, unki taraf kuch aur hai, kuch aur hote. But we wanted to respect all the COVID-19 guidelines. Uss mein bhi bahut maza aaya, ek sukoon tha.”

She went on to express how, even if the world wasn’t facing a pandemic, she would still get married in the same way, without any pressure from anyone. She even commended her fans and the reporters showering her and her husband with love on their simple wedding, “Humein nahi laga tha ki aisa, aisa laga ki aap sab celebrate kar rahe hai saath mein,” she added.

The 34-year-old actress went on to express that she and Aditya always wanted to have a wedding connected to their roots. She spoke about how the whole idea behind having a haldi ceremony, is to be bare faced, receiving her nani’s blessings in the clothes that the older woman stitched for her. She further said, “Glad that both Aditya and I, as people, ek hi soch rakhte hai. Ki shaadiyon mein kahi baar wastage bahut hota hai, kahin baar aap kisi pressure mein, aapko sabko khush rakhna hai, sabko kuch prove karna hai, phir yeh pressure, woh sab nahi karna chahiye. Aapka khushi ka din hai, enjoy karna chahiye. Agar dilse koi cheez ki hogi toh aashirwad mil jaayega, woh zaroori hai.”

For the unversed, Yami and Aditya tied the knot in 2021 in the midst of their close family and friends.
