Wrestler Mahavir Phogat To Join Aamir For Dangal Shoot

Aamir Khan starrer Dangal goes on floors in Haryana on September 1. The actor will play wrestler Mahavir Phogat in the film. And guess what! Phogat will be present on the set!!

Confirming the development, the former wrestler and Indian women's wrestling team's coach, says, "Aamir saab has invited me, he wants me to be on the sets to see how he enacts my part. He wants me to guide him wherever possible. He wants feedback from me. And I'm more than happy to help him out. Physically he's prepared, but I'm also keen to see how he enacts an emotional scene. I'm looking forward to welcome him into my state, Haryana."

Aamir, who turned 50 this year, took almost six months after the release of Raju Hirani's PK to change his look and prep for the film. Apart from building his body and escalating his weight to almost 95 kilos, he has taken diction classes and has also been learning kushti from players from India's national squad to get his body language and wrestling skills right.

The first schedule will be shot across Haryana and Punjab. One of the key locations is Kila Raipur (Ludhiana, Punjab), which is also the venue for the annual Rural Olympics in India.

Dangal is slated to release in X'mas next year. Debutants Babita and Geeta Kumari play Aamir's daughters, while Sakshi Tanwar will play his wife.
