WOAH! Bobby Deol’s Mass Appeal In Animal Sparks Tensions Between Two OTT Platforms? Jio Studios And Netflix FIGHT For Actor’s Next-REPORTS
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal has been heaping praises from all quarters despite much controversy around the film. Ranbir Kapoor’s intense and spine-chilling performance along with Bobby Deol playing the role of the ruthless character Abraar, has received much applause from audience and critics alike and the internet cannot stop discussing the intricacies of this action/drama.

However, the film’s popularity has even sparked tensions among two OTT platforms with each other in a bid to acquire Bobby’s next film. ALSO READ | Animal Park: Saurabh Sachdeva REVEALS He Had No Clue About The Sequel Even After Filming The Post-Credit Scene With Ranbir Kapoor

While Ranbir played the lead, Bobby’s character won the audience with his short but impacting appearance on the big screen. This has ultimately toppled into mass chaos and cut-throat competition among filmmakers and production houses as many eagerly wait to collaborate with the actor for his next.

As per a Zoom report, Netflix and Jio Studios are pitted against each other to get Bobby’s next.

The tensions sparked as the men-in-white, Abbas-Mustan, completed a film titled Penthouse starring Bobby Deol, Arjun Rampal and Sharman Joshi. Netflix had sort of sealed the deal by paying 70 per cent of the money to the makers (the film's producer is Sunil Khetrapal).

Suddenly, Netflix informed Abbas-Mustan to change the film a bit by increasing Bobby's role. Abbas-Mustan resisted. Netflix told them that they were calling off the deal and their money should be returned.

Around the same time, Jio Studios got in touch with the makers of Penthouse and told Abbas-Mustan that they like the product, but would love to increase the roles of all three actors - Bobby, Arjun, Sharman, and would like Penthouse to be rolled out in 2 parts.

Interestingly, following Animal’s release; Bobby Deol started trending big time and Netflix called up the Penthouse makers and said that they would like to have the product back. ALSO READ | WHAT? Bobby Deol Imagined Brother Sunny Deol’s DEATH, For His Emotional Scene In Animal!- Read To Know More
