Why No Aishwarya Rai In 2.0: Director Shankar Explains, But Adds, "There Will Be A Reference Of Her"

This is one question that has been on the lips of everyone ever since 2.0 (sequel to Robot) went on floors. How could Amy Jackson step into Aishwarya Rai's shoes? Finally, it was asked today at PVR (Juhu) where 2.0's director Shankar, producer Karan Johar and star Askshay Kumar addressed the media, few minutes ago.

Shankar explained that this is a different story with certain different characters, while there will definitely be a mention of Aishwarya's character from Robot.  2.0 is undoubtedly the biggest film of the year and hits theatres on November 29. It has been directed by Shankar and stars Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar in main roles. While Rajinikanth is playing the role of Chitti the robot, Akshay essays the role of the crow man. We were witness to a very exciting trailer launch in Chennai, just earlier this month where the euphoria, err, frenzy, was to be seen to be believed. 

 While Akshay Kumar will be seen as a scientist who becomes strange after an experiment goes wrong, Rajinikanth will be seen saving the world from his wrath as Chitti the robot. Talking to the media in Chennai, Rajini had confidently said, "2.0 will be a massive super hit." Chennai's Satyam Auditorium was the venue, the security was very tight- but that did not stop the spirits from soaring as the clock ticked. A R Rahman, who has composed the music of 2.0, was also present at the Chennai event.
