When Shah Rukh Khan Was Kept At Gunpoint By Wife Gauri Khan’s Brother Before Their Marriage
A book, titled Bollywood-Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema, reveals interesting details about Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s love story.
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are regarded as one of the most adorable couples in the industry. They celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary today. That being said, every love story is incomplete without hurdles and in their case, it was Gauri’s brother Vikrant who proved to be a major roadblock for our King Khan.
The duo tied the knot in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on October 25, 1991. But it was never as easy as it sounds. Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan both encountered obstacles while convincing her family about their marriage.
In a book, titled King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema, film critic and author of the book Anupama Chopra spills a few interesting details about Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s love story.
According to the book, Gauri’s father, Ramesh Chibba raised objections over Shah Rukh’s acting career and her mother Savita had approached an astrologer to break them up. Meanwhile, Gauri’s brother Vikrant threatened Shah Rukh by keeping him at a gun point.
An excerpt from the book reads, “Vikrant had a reputation of being a goonda (thug). He threatened Shah Rukh with a gun, but the posturing didn’t scare his sister’s suitor.”
SRK and Gauri have been setting relationship goals for quite a while now. They are parents to sons Aryan and AbRam, and daughter Suhana. They have been going through a major upheaval for past few weeks - owing to Aryan's arrest, but they have found support from industry friends.
