Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most loved stars in Bollywood. The actor made his debut in Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Sawariya. Post his debut, Ranbir went on to star in many films like Barfi, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Sanju, Wake Up Sid among others, and his impressive performances in films speak volumes about his versatility as an actor. However, not many know that the actor starred in a short film before making entering mainstream Bollywood.
Much to our surprise, Ranbir starred in Oscar nominated short film titled Karma, which was directed by Abhay Chopra, grandson of filmmaker BR Chopra. Karma was made when RK was studying at the film institute with Abhay Chopra. It is a fictional drama piece set in a time when anti-capital punishment revolutions had started. The film shows a father's dilemma when his own son is sentenced to death.
Ranbir Kapoor delivers a great performance in the film and it will leave you convinced that he was born to be an actor. Apart from RK, it also stars Sharat Saxena and Milind Joshi. The short film was released on Bandra Film Festival's YouTube Channel. Fans took to the comments section and hailed Ranbir Kapoor's performance. One fan wrote, "Ranbir is a real performer," another fan wrote, "I just can't believe this short film was made before his debut in Saawariya.. Ranbir is really talented."
The actor has now been a part of many films. Ranbir has many interesting projects in the pipeline. He will be seen in Ayan Mukerji's upcoming film Brahmastra. The movie also stars Mouni Roy, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. Other than that, he also has Shamshera. The actor will be seen sharing screen space with Vaani Kapoor in the same. Plus, Ranbir will be seen sharing screen space with Shraddha Kapoor in yet-to-be-titled Luv Ranjan film.
