In the old video shared by a Reddit user, a fan asked Adah if there is something she cannot do, and to this, she stated she cannot touch her nose with her tongue. This reminded many of the time when Ananya Panday appeared on the chat show Koffee With Karan and did the same. The Student of the Year 2 actress back then received backlash after a video of her touching her nose with her tongue surfaced online. Adah’s answer left many netizens wondering if she took a direct at Panday. Sharma in media interviews has been defending the film and in one such conversation, she called the film a 'movement.'

Rediffmail quoted her as saying, “I meet young girls who find The Kerala Story cool. I bump into young boys who have seen the film four-five times already and are rattling off the dialogues, outlining specific scenes. The Kerala Story is no longer just another film, it's become a movement.”
