In 2022, it was widely reported by the netizens that she is dating businessman Lalit Modi. the latter’s lovey-dovey post hinted at their brewing romance. However, during a recent interaction on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast ‘Chapter 2,’ she revealed that she has been single since 2021.

The revelation has left the netizens confused and many even wondered what relationship Sen shared with Modi to dismiss it like that. During the podcast, the actress explained how she has been single since 2021 and currently doesn’t have a man in her life. She went on to share how she isn’t interested in anyone at the moment. Quoted by the Free Press Journal, she said, “I am not even interested in anyone at the moment. It is lovely to take a break because I was in a relationship for almost five years. As soon as the revelation made the headlines, netizens took to Reddit to comment on it. One wrote, “Rhea started a podcast called Chapter 2 and her first guest was Sushmita Sen. Sushmita mentioned she's been single for 3 years, and I'm super confused bc I thought she was still dating Lalit Modi? But it's as if he never even existed. Hella confused rn.” Another wrote, “It was rather obvious that she wasn't "dating" Lalit Modi. For those who don’t know, Sushmita was in a long-lasting relationship with model Rohman Shawl. Her declaration has confused the fans, as it was heavily reported that she was dating the ex-Indian Premier League commissioner in 2022. Declaring the same, the businessman had even posted their cozy photos on his official social media handles, with the caption, “Just back in london after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families - not to mention my #betterhalf @sushmitasen47 - a new beginning a new life finally. Addressing rumours of her dating Modi, in an earlier interview with Mid-Day, the 48-year-old actress had revealed that she was laughing and enjoying the chapter very much. Sen even added that dating Modi was just another phase in her life, expressing how she found everyone’s reactions to the announcement very amusing. She enjoyed the memes too. The actress explained that if people term someone a gold digger they shouldn’t monetise their posts.


For the unversed, Sushmita Sen was earlier dating Rohman Shawl. It is rumoured that the couple might be rekindling their romance after they broke up, a few years ago.
