A day after the tragic death of Malaika Arora’s stepfather, Anil Mehta, new details have emerged about his final moments. It has been reported that Mehta made a final phone call to his daughters, Malaika and Amrita, just hours before his alleged suicide. During the call, he expressed feelings of despair, reportedly telling them, “I am sick and tired.” This statement has led the police to further investigate the circumstances surrounding his death to understand why he made such a remark. Anil Mehta allegedly died by suicide on Wednesday morning. According to sources, Malaika’s mother, Joyce Polycarp, provided crucial information to the police. She stated that despite being divorced, she and Mehta had reconciled and had been living together for the past few years. Every morning, Mehta would sit on the balcony to read the newspaper. However, on the morning of his death, Joyce noticed something unusual when she saw his slippers in the living room but couldn’t find him in the balcony. Joyce also told the police that, while Anil Mehta wasn’t suffering from any severe illness, he had been dealing with knee pain. Mehta had taken voluntary retirement from the Merchant Navy, and no other health concerns were known to the family. Following the tragedy, Malaika Arora released an official statement expressing the family's deep sorrow. She requested privacy during this difficult time, describing her father as a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, and a loving husband. The family is in shock, and she asked for understanding and respect from the media and well-wishers.
