Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is all set to return to the action genre with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Having made a name for himself with his comic timing and shooting most action sequences without using a body double, he has garnered a huge fanbase. As the release of his upcoming film inches forward, he recently opened up about an anecdote from the shooting days of Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi. In an interview, he took a trip down memory lane and revealed that he suffered a slipped disc during the shoot as he had to lift The Undertaker.
During an interaction with YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahabadia on his podcast The Ranveer Show, Khiladi Kumar recalled the time he broke his back during the shoot of his 1996 film. He revealed how he broke his back as he had to lift The Undertaker, who weighed around 425 pounds. While everything worked out fine during the shoot, it was three days later that his back gave out and he suffered a slipped disc. Recalling the entire experience, the 56-year-old actor, quoted by Pinkvilla, said, “Mujhe bhi yaad hai (the film) aur meri peeth ko bhi yaad hai… Toot gayi thi usko (The Undertaker) uthaya tha (I vividly remember the experience, as does my back. I suffered a broken back after lifting The Undertaker). I lifted him, I was mad. Kumar went on to add that pst the entire experience, he found solace in hydro-therapy, a treatment that involves running and exercising in water. He added that it has greatly improved his condition.
On the work front, last seen in Mission Raniganj and OMG 2, Akshay Kumar has Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira, Singham Again, Hera Pheri 3, and the multi-starrer Welcome To The Jungle in his pipeline. He will also be making his debut in the Marathi film industry with Mahesh Manjrekar directorial Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. he will be seen essaying the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
