Vivek Oberoi's Tweet On Aishwarya Rai Lands Him In Trouble; National Commission For Women Sends Notice To The Actor
Vivek Oberoi is being slammed left, right and centre for his latest tweet that targets his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan. Actor compares her past relationships with the Exit Polls. Oberoi, who’s gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Narendra Modi, a biopic on our Prime Minister, posted a collage of Aish’s past relationships, titling them as Opinion Poll (with Salman), Exit Poll (with himself) and Result (with Abhishek).

Now, the particular tweet has landed him in trouble. The National Commission for Women has served notice to the actor.

The notice reads, “The National Commission for Women has come across several media reports on 20th May, 2019, wherein it is reported that you have made insulting and misogynistic post of twitter carrying a picture of a minor girl and a woman. It has been reported that you had drawn a sly comparison between the poll result and woman’s personal life.”

The notice further asked the Saathiya actor to provide a satisfactory explanation to NCW. It states, “Whereas the post made is extremely offensive, unethical and shows disrespect towards the dignity and respect of women in general. In view of the above, you are hereby required to provide a satisfactory explanation to the Commission on the matter on receipt of this notice.”

Before sending the notice, the National Commission For Women tweeted about the same and wrote, “This tweet is absolutely Disgusting, distasteful, and degrading a women.  @NCWIndia  will be serving notice to @vivekoberoi”

For the uninitiated, Oberoi’s tweet created a big stir on social media. Bollywood celebs like Madhur Bhandarkar and Sonam Kapoor too lashed out against the actor. While Mrs. Ahuja called his tweet, “disgusting and classless”, Madhur wrote, “Dear @vivekoberoi, never expected such tweet from u. The trolls may go to any extent and make memes but u as a responsible celebrity should be careful of hurting anyone's dignity. Would request u to apologize and delete the tweet.”
