Vivek Oberoi’s Brother-In-Law Aditya Alva Named In Sandalwood Drug Scandal FIR-Reports
The Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) are investigating the Sandwood Drug scandal since the past few days now. The CCB booked Kannada film actress Ragini Dwivedi and 11 others for their alleged role in the use of drugs that are banned in the state, as per the police. Now, the latest reports state that Vivek Oberoi’s brother-in-law, Aditya Alva is also booked in the Sandalwood drugs scandal. According to a report in the Times of India, while addressing the media officials, the city joint commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil said, "We have filed a suo motu FIR (first information report) at the Cottonpet police station in the city against Ragini and others, including drug peddlers Shivaprakash, Ravi Shankar, Rahul Shetty and party planner Viren Khanna for their drug links in the Kannada film industry.”  The FIR is filed against Ragini Dwivedi and 11 others including drug peddlers Shivaprakash, Ravi Shankar, Rahul Shetty and party planner Viren Khanna under the sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and 120b of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). They have been charged for the purchase, possession, distribution and consumption of banned drugs at rave parties and late-night gatherings.

Meanwhile, Aditya Alva, Vivek Oberoi’s brother-in-law is the son of late legislator Jeevaraj Alva and Nandini Alva. While his name in the Sandalwood drug scandal has come as a shock, reports state that he is not taken into custody yet. According to the report, the CCB officers are looking for him, but there is no official confirmation whether he will be arrested or not.

According to reports, the Central Crime Branch revealed that the drugs scandal came into the spotlight after they received a tip-off in August 2020 about 204 kg of marijuana arriving in Bengaluru from Andhra Pradesh, which belonged to an associate of a politician in Karnataka. Since then, the CCB officials are investigating the Sandalwood drugs scandal and have made arrests accordingly.
