Vivek Agnihotri all set for the release of his upcoming film The Vaccine War, recently opened up in an interview with The New Indian Express about the online abuse he faced from Prabhas' fans over the clash of his movie with Salaar. The Kashmir Files director shared how toxic fans of the Baahubali actor said, “koi toh bhagao isae,” but the 49-year old proudly stated “koi aur hee bhaag gaya” referring to the postponement in the release date of Salaar. He shared that Prabhas fans are trolling him ever since the release date of The Vaccine war was announced. Speaking about The Vaccine War, Vikek told Hindustan Times, in an interview, how he is not at all bothered by the film's box office numbers. He said to the leading daily, "For me, if even one girl gets inspired by my film to become a virologist, I'll consider my film successful. We've shown it to 5,000 people in the US so far. They've cried, laughed, felt proud, they came out and hugged us and thanked us for making this film." The director's last outing The Kashmir Files was a humgous hit as it was made on a budget of just Rs 15 crore but did a box office business of Rs 340 crore globally. With the reputation of his last film's success, audience are eagerly waiting for the release of The Vaccine War. Touted as India's pioneering bio-science film, The Vaccine War features Nana Patekar in the role of the head scientist leading the quest to develop India's first Covid-19 vaccine. Notable actors like Anupam Kher, Raima Sen, Sapthami Gowda, and Pallavi Joshi play crucial roles in the film. Originally, it was scheduled to clash with Prabhas' Salaar. However, recent reports indicate that the release date for Salaar has been rescheduled to December. Now, the film is set to go head-to-head with Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki, from director Rajkumar Hirani.
