After The Kashmir Files, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is gearing up to release yet another gripping movie ‘The Vaccine War.’ Based on the challenges faced during the development of the COVID vaccine during the outbreak of the coronavirus, the movie stars Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Sapthami Gowda, Pallavi Joshi and others in pivotal roles. During a recent interaction, he opened up about how Javed Akhtar reached out to him with a heartfelt message after seeing the team of the upcoming movie promote it at The Times Square.

In an interview with Galata Plus, he was talking about recreating the ‘Srishti Se Pehle’ song, which features in the trailer. Shedding light on the same, he recalled how it was the title track of the television serial ‘Bharat Ek Khoj,’ and it originates from the Rig Veda. He went on to explain that even though his wife, Pallavi Joshi, was a part of the show, he was drawn to the song and the theory of creation of the universe during the COVID-19 pandemic. While talking about how people have always been curious about the cosmos and where we come from, he went on to share a ‘brilliant message’ sent to him by the veteran lyricist when he saw them perform the song at Times Square. Revealing that it is a hymn from Rig Veda, he read Akhtar’s message. Quoted by Indian Express, he said, “Vivek sahab, this is a hymn from Rig Veda which I have recently read. One’s heart fills with pride that one is born in the land of such philosophers who many millennium ago could look at the universe like a grand master would look at a chessboard and imagine all the possible moves. I am really moved and overjoyed.” He went on to add that he has a lot of people, who reach out to him personally and send him their well-wishes.

Talking about his last release The Kashmir Files, it had caused an uproar in 2022. Starring Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty and many others in pivotal roles, the movie narrated the story of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley in the 1990s. It went on to become one of the highest-grossing movies in Bollywood in 2022. On the work front, apart from The Vaccine War, he also has The Delhi Files in his pipeline.
