Bollywood actress Lara Dutta is winning hearts on social media, courtesy of, her raising awareness about menopause. The actress recently attended an event organized by pharma company Abbott to launch ‘The Next Chapter’, a campaign to learn more about menopause and help women prepare for and manage their symptoms. On the stage, Lara spoke about how menopause is not given due importance in society. She asserted that in India, the majority of women don't even have access to proper physical and medical healthcare facilities.

The Partner actress shared her photos and videos from the event where she talked about women suffering due to menopause and how this aspect is neglected. Videos of Lara’s empowering speech are doing the rounds on social media with netizens lauding the actress to initiate a conversation on menopause. In a statement, Dutta shared, “Being on stage and listening to the panel of doctors has been an eye-opener for me as well. I know this even when I was a goodwill ambassador for the UN that women's health and wellness is barely discussed in the way that it should. In our country, unfortunately, the majority of women don't even have access to proper physical and medical healthcare facilities to even reproductive health, forget about anything else.”

Adding to this, the 44-year-old actress mentioned that “menopause is back on the burner as a priority.”
