The ‘Kala Chashma’ song from Baar Baar Dekho starring Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif has created a rage over the internet. From Bollywood celebrities to International artists, many are creating reels on Instagram on this song. Even recently Indian cricket team after their win again Zimbabwe made a reel grooving on the song. 

In a recent interview, singer Amar Arshi, mentioned that had no idea that the track had become this popular.

In a candid interaction with Mint, Amar Arshi was quoted saying, “My son had been telling me it was all over the internet but I didn’t pay heed until two weeks ago when I started getting calls from some friends in the US, England, and Canada.”




The 55-year-old singer mentioned that he has not made financial gain since the song became a hit. His compensation for re-recording just touched six figures. He was quoted saying, “I don’t think most of these people making dance videos to this song know that I sang it. For all the raula (buzz) this song has generated in recent weeks, I haven’t made any monetary gains from it. I knew little about royalty as a concept back then. Further, I didn’t think the song will become this big.”

Meanwhile, Hollywood celebrities Demi Lovato and Jimmy Fallon shared a viral BTS video on the Instagram handle from The Tonight Show where the duo is seen grooving on Kala Chashma track.

For the unversed, The original singer of Kala Chashma released in 1991 is Amar Arshi, written by Amrik Singh Shera and composed by Kam Dhillon and Prem Hardeep. The song was re-created by Baadshah and Neha Kakkar for the 2016 film Baar Baar Dekho.
