Vir Das recalls his struggling day on watching the Netflix series, Maid
Standup comedian Vir Das penned a heartfelt post revealing what emotions he experienced after watching the Netflix series, Maid. The actor revealed the series reminded him of his life’s lowest point. The 31st October actor revealed back in 2002 when he was in Chicago, he experienced a phase when he had no money to pay off his dues, being followed by threatening calls from the credit card agents for recovering. The actor shared there was a time when he cried outside an ATM with just 8$ in his account at 2 am.
He shared this note with the caption, “I watched Maid. It’s sublime…I haven’t slept in three nights. It’s been 20 years, my BIGGEST fear till date is one could go back to that situation.” His revelation post read, “Watching Maid gave me anxiety. My lowest point might have been Chicago 2002. No insurance, late on rent, about to get evicted, credit card collection agents calling and threatening you daily, crying outside an ATM at 2 AM with 8$ in my account. ATM only lets you withdraw 20.”
He also recalled about three jobs he did to meet his ends. He further mentioned, “Some nights when the theatre company that I worked at closed, I would use the building code and sneak back into the office to sleep where it was warm and the entire office was kind enough to pretend they hadn’t seen me do it on CCTV.” Read his entire post below-
