Vinta Nanda's Lawyer On 'Police Possibly Shutting Alok Nath Case': "We Haven't Been Told About It"
Vinta Nanda Vs Alok Nath Case might be shut by the police if a report in a tabloid is anything to go by. Vinta's lawyer spoke to SpotboyE.com few minutes ago, saying that she is unaware about any such development.
According to Mid-day, "ten months after screenwriter Vinta Nanda filed a rape case against actor Alok Nath, the Oshiwara police are likely to file a closure report for 'lack of evidence'. Nanda had, on October 8 last year, posted her ordeal on social media."
For those who've come in late, Vinta had filed a complaint with the Oshiwara police and Nath was booked for rape in November last year. The report further states, "The Oshiwara police, however, seem to be lacking sufficient evidence against the accused to file a charge sheet in the matter.| "We have recorded a detailed statement of the victim. Two witnesses were called to the police station a number of times but they haven't yet recorded their statements," an officer at the Oshiwara police station has told the tabloid.
Vinta had give an exhaustive and exclusive interview to SpotboyE.com talking all about the ordeal.
When contacted a few minutes back, Vinta's lawyer Dhruti Kapadia said that they have not been informed by the police of any such decision. "We have not been intimidated, neither orally nor in writing. So, it would be just premature for me to say anything on this at this moment."
Nath did not respond to our query on the possibility of the case being closed.
Rewind: Nath had filed a counter defamation suit against Nanda, in which he asked for a written apology, along with a compensation of Re 1 and a restraining order. The actor was later expelled by CINTAA for not appearing for a hearing before the executive committee. In January this year, however, the sessions court granted the Hum Aapke Hain Koun actor relief from arrest.
