Vidya Balan is a phenomenal actor and has proved it over the years with her films. The actress who was last seen in film Mission. Mangal has won a lot of acclaim for the work she does. Vidya is often spotted making strong and bold comments and a true inspiration for young women as she voices out her opinions. As the Indian film industry works under being a male-dominated society, Vidya Balan talks about the casting couch problem prevalent in the Indian film industry and sends a powerful message to young budding actresses.

Vidya Balan is an inspiration and is known for pioneering a change for women’s portrayal in Indian cinema and has managed to set a change by creating an impact in Indian cinema with her female-led movies.  Vidya was recently spotted in Mumbai at a launch event of a book ‘Those Magnificent Women and their Flying Machines: ISRO’s Mission to Mars’ penned  by Author Minnie Vaid. During the book launch event, the actress was asked about the prevalent casting couch problem in the Indian film industry and the actress shared her message for the newcomers. Vidya said, “ Honestly I had even forgotten about this incident because thankfully nothing happened, but that day in the course of the interview I remembered, after years. But I was very fortunate that nothing happened to me. There was no force, there was no molestation, there was nothing, but I really think that no opportunity is big enough for you to have to compromise your safety. There is lots of work out there and if you good and if you believe in yourself, I think nothing is impossible. So don’t give in to people who use this as a bait.Thankyou.” Balan, quite briefly spoke about her views regarding the problem and sent out a powerful message to the masses.


Vidya Balan was last seen in film Mission Mangal co-starring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi and Nithya Menen. The film released on the 73rd Independence day and clashed at the Box—Office with John Abraham’s Batla House. Vidya was well praised for her performance in the film and received a lot of acclaim as well.
