According to a report in ETimes, the sci-fi film has been shelved due to budget issues, as it had to be inevitably pushed due to several other factors as well.
Earlier, Mid-Day had quoted a source close as saying, “The team is awaiting visa clearance, which takes longer in the post-pandemic times. First, Aditya will travel with a lean team for the recce. He has not finalised the countries, and the venues may change, depending on the situation in Eastern Europe. The rest of the unit will join them only after the on-ground checks have been cleared. Vicky is likely to start the film between mid- and late-August, after wrapping up Mr Lele."
Dhar had planned on starting 'The Immortal Ashwatthama’s shoot in April this year, but it got pushed due to the second wave of Coronavirus in India.
The Immortal Ashwatthama would see Vicky Kaushal playing the character inspired by warrior Ashwatthama in Mahabharata. Sara Ali Khan was reportedly roped in as the leading lady opposite Vicky.
